The ARGUS/2100 is part of a family of ARGUS reader/writer products thatsupport access to PCMCIA Cards through various interfaces, e.g. RS-232,Centronics, and SCSI, for platforms that do not have ports for thesedevices.The ARGUS/2100 is an external SCSI II Reader/Writer for PCMCIA cards.The reader attaches to the SCSI II Bus by means of standard SCSI IICables with Micro D50 connectors (High Density). The SCSI Unit number isselectable so that the ARGUS/2100 can be any unit (0-7). The ARGUS/2100is designed for the U.S. Department of Defense to support Defense MessageSystem's (DMS) MOSAIC Cryptologic Library for TESSERA PCMCIA Cards. Thepurpose of the MOSAIC program is to provide secure EMAIL exchange amongDoD users through various networks using TESSERA PCMCIA user tokens forauthentication and signature.The Litronic MOSAIC Cryptologic Library is currently available fromLitronic, and is required for this application.
